Congratulations to Darren Radford; winner of the Open Section with a score of 3.5. And to Katie Thomas who scored a perfect 4.0 in the Under 1400 Section! Katie was not only the youngest competitor; she was the only lady in either section.

I hated to miss the tornado last weekend but I got the scoop on Sat. night. I'd like to offer a big congrats to Miss Katie!!! I played her last year and she not only wowed me w/ her chess skills but also with her sincerely sweet and kind personality. A class act in every way. GO KATIE!!! Congratulations to Darren too! A scholar and a gentleman to be sure. And what about my friend Andrew getting a win over Spiderman??!!! I wish I could have been there.

Okay, Steff, let's not rub it in. Spiderman has been playing lately like he has never seen a chess board. All kidding aside, the smile on Andrew's face after his win over Spiderman said it all. Even Spiderman did not feel bad at all about Andrew's win. Mad at himself but glad for Andrew.

I only sent that message because I knew that, despite your loss, you'd be happy for your opponent, especially someone as deserving as Sir Andrew. Besides, you can kick my butt all over a chess board w/ one spinnerette tied behind your back. I only aspire to be as good at chess as The Spiderman!!!!!

Steff, thanks for the complement but I need to be underneath that pedestal. I guess that Andrew is THE MAN now. ;D Who is next on his hit list? Or is he . Not me again I hope!

Don't get carried away! Stan bestowed the title "The Man" on a certain individual who "shut out" the entire NCCC not once, but twice, in his monthly simul's. My pedestal may only be six inches off the ground but I'll defend it until I suffer an overwhelming defeat in a simul at NCCC.
Besides; what are we doing letting Peter Parker on our web site? The next thing you know Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent will want equal time.

I propose another "Beat the Man" at NCCC. I propose we start a.s.a.p., let's say April 30? What about it?

I just want to go back to being Andrew who enjoys playing a game of chess and gets beat by everyone. I get lucky and all hell breaks loose. With all the yak yak this win stirred up,i might never want to win again except against Steff.

Sorry Drew. It's kinda like being at the Hotel California. You can check out anytime you like but you can NEVER LEAVE. You were obviously destined for greatness. Roll with it!!!!!
