In order to preclude ambiguity in future tournament announcements I propose the following check list be used for all future tournaments.
Name and date of Tournament Exact Location of Tournament Name and contact information of Tournament Director Entry fees and acceptable forms of payment (advanced registration and on site registration) Post mark date (no later than) for advanced registration Time of on site registration Time of First Round and approximate times of subsequent rounds Game time limits to include delays/increments Section Information; to include minimum number of participants Prize information to include Section Winners and individual Class Prizes with the following caveats: Only one prize awarded per individual (not counting biggest upset if afforded); Minimum participants needed (per class) to award Class Prizes Number of entrants necessary to guarantee prize fund Tie break system to be used (and order of use) Lunch Break (specify or declare it to be a player responsibility) Free entry to all Masters (specify is fees will be deducted from winnings) Players Equipment responsibilities to include: sets; clocks; pen/pencil ; paper or allowable recording devices Cell phone warnings Cover our butt caveat : all Changes/Additions to announced times and prizes will be posted prior to the First Round (time permitting) and no later than prior to the beginning of the Second Round
