Would anyone be interested in a match with another club? I think Evansville Chess Club looks like a good candidate for someone to play. Evansville is a couple of hours away, closer to our town size, and hopefully similar in playing strength. If we have enough interest, I have the email of Terry Winchester Evansville’s contact and we could propose a match. If any of you can think of a better club to play against, I’m open for ideas.
Depending on the interest on both sides, I was thinking about maybe meeting half way or a home and home match maybe mid to late summer. Maybe three or four rounds with us trying to match playing strength of the competitors of each club as best we can. Who would be interested?

Hey guys, I sent an email to the link on the front page but haven't heard anythign so i thought I'd try posting on the board.
Here is basically what I sent in the email: a group of us play on chessmaniac.com and it is a free site. You will have to register for the site by creating a login name, similar to your forum, but that's it. If you decide to join, let me know your screen names and I’ll help you get thru your “unofficial” period. You have to complete 5 unofficial games before you can start playing officially for rating points, join tournaments, play team matches, etc. Personally, I got the 5 games and then dumped them so I could get started on the "real stuff".
Our team is the Kentucky Knights and we are some of the players you met and played at the Bluegrass games (Chris, Del, Frank, etc) We thought it’d be a nice idea if we could get a lot of the area players to be on the same site and on the same team. It would be easy to communicate with everyone thru the team chat and it could build friendship and camaraderie by participating on the same team and playing together against other teams when they challenge us to matches. If you have any questions just ask and I’ll try to answer them.
Jerry, Steve, Johnny, and the rest, I hope to see you online and as part of the team. Chris

Chris,
I signed up at chessmaniac.com yesterday, but I still have not gotten back the conformation email. It shouldn’t take this long, right?

Hey Steve, no it shouldn't. It should eb within a few minutes. then, similar to the forums here, you have to click on th elink sent to you in the email and then login in with your screen name and password. What's your Id and I'll be looking for you once you get on.
BTW, why can't I login here? I registered and the response I get is an administrator needs to approve me. Not that it matters since I can post as a guest.

I'm on the site, now, too, but I don't think I'd be able to contribute to the varsity team. Is there a JV squad?

Chris, I approved your membership, so you should have been able to post. Not sure why it still has you as guest.
